1977 Fender Stratocaster Hardtail

Hi,

What would the approximate value of a Hardtail 1977 Fender Strat be? It is in perfectly playable condition, however the body has many pick scratches and belt buckle wear. None of it goes through the finish however.

It has a one-piece maple neck that has very little if no fret wear at all. All the parts are original except for the tuners which were replaced by the original owner with Schaller tuners made in the same year. Because of this, new holes were drilled in the peghead.

The body is black with a factory black pickguard and matching plastic parts. Two of the screw holes in the pickguard have cracked. The original owner also replaced the 3-way switch with a 5-way. It still has the original hardshell case with some very small tears in the tolex on one of the bottom edges.

Hey Shoes,

According to the VG Price Guide the value is around $2,200 - $2,300 in very good to excellent condition. The wear and changed parts you have mentioned will reduce that price somewhat.
