Hi
I have just bought a June 1979 Greco EG-800 which seems all fine and dandy right down to the sticker on the back of the headstock. The guitar is cherry sunburst with nickel hardware - so far so good.
The thing that is bugging me is that it has nickel cover pickups. On all the Greco catalogues (I'm english - yes) I have seen the only EG-800s to have covered pickups are the customs. All the others you can see the bobbins.
The pickup type is PU-0 which were an option on the EG-800 but as an open pickup.
Am I fretting (sorry) needlessly? Would there have been this variation from the catalogue specs? The pickups don't appear to have been changed as the solder doesn't appear to have been tampered with. And the sticker on the headstock hasn't been damaged or changed as far as I can tell.
Should I get out more?
Oh, and by the way what are PU-0 pickups? I can't find any info on them!
