I can't find any serial number on this thing, and I was hoping someone could date it for me and tell me whether it's Korean or Japanese. I thought all Hondos were Korean, but someone on another site ided theirs as Japanese and talked about other Japanese made Hondos.

There certainly are Japanse Hondos per:

A Japanese '80s V is mentioned in this HC review

Yes...the Harmony Central thing was one of the few places I've seen anything about this model. I'm hoping find another source to corroborate it being one of the years they were made in Japan.

If it can help:

Source: Vintage Guitar Mag Price Guide 2007:
"... Some better Hondos made in Japan '74, '82/'83..."

Hi ighut,

Hondo made V's (H-768) in the mid 1980's but I think the only year they were marketed as the Revival Series was 1984.

I recall a VG article discussing Hondo and it's relationship to a Japanese factory but I don't remember the details. I'll try to find the article.

The only Hondos I'm confident were built in Japan were in the 1981 Professional Series.

Much appreciated all, especially dating it for me. That was my initial goal when I first started checking it, but got into reading some of the discussions on the matsumoku site for my Vantage Ghost when Hondo's name came up.
