Sorrento

Hey guys,

I recently got this Sorrento at an auction ($100) and was wondering what you guys thought about it. I saw in the unknowns section that someone else had posted a Sorrento that had been suspected to be of Hoshino (Ibanez) origin, so I thought I would post this in here. I couldn't find any vintage Ibanez, or other brand that looked quite like this. These are very hard to find info on...

In case it doesn't come out in the picture, there are two black switches next to the neck pickup. It's in good condition, just needs to be cleaned up and to get new strings and a setup. There doesn't seem to be any other information other than the 'Sorrento' logo on the headstock. Just wondering if anyone here had any info to offer about it... Thanks!

i think it's more a teisco/kawai thingy i wouldn't have payed 100$ for it.
but it's about the right value if the case is included.

OK thanks for the replies... haha it actually came with a Premier strat copy and case as well, but I don't think that's very old... at least its a fun guitar to play around with

btw great forums and site here... I've learned a ton that I can hopefully use next time I see something up for sale that interests me

It's made by Kawai and was originally sold through a catalog (Allied, Spiegel, etc., can't remember which exact one). No connection with Ibanez.
