I cant seem to find any info on this one. There is some info on other models but only with one pickup.
Has Matsumoku on the neck plate.
Anybody have any info, that would be great.
Was wondering what these things go for now.
The cows and Mr. Yuk were added later.

Hi - There should be a serial number on the plate - it may be possible to work out exactly when the bass was made from that number.

However, a quick squizz at at some Japanese Greco catalogues tells us that your bass is a PB750N:

Which first shows up in 1975 & seems to run through to 1977 before disappearing.

Greco is predominantly a Japanese domestic brand, your bass is possibly quite rare outside Japan, and may not have been officially exported if it doesn't appear in English-language promo material.

Yours looks in great condition for a 30+ year-old bass - look after it!

I'm not 100% sure how Matsumoku Greco serials work, but if they're the same as Fujigen (the other factory that built Grecos in the 70s) then your bass is from January 1976.

The first letter is the month, starting with A/January, B/February etc, and the 76 is 1976. The remainder is probably the production number - ie your bass is the 228th instrument produced in January 1976.

If that's right then your bass is right in the middle of the model's lifespan.

good luck with that... production numbers on most older MIJs are very difficult to come by, considering Grecos were evidently made by more than one factory, maybe even impossible. There is a 3 tone burst on Yahoo Japan right now that looks to be the same model...but if the basses were like the strats, they came in quite a few models numbers starting from low end to very high end.
