FYI, the chrome tele-style knobs are replacements. It had the typical Kawai metal Strat-style knobs with V and T on them.

What i've got here is obviously some sort of Kawai, but I'm having trouble finding any info about "Encore". Was this just a typical rebrand?
If so, does anyone know the model?

Hi, Yes, Encore is one of the brand names of John Hornby Skewes, they also have modern guitars going under the name "Vintage" - which is to say the least confusing on ebay. - I have a couple of Encore basses and an encore super-strat and i have to say that for the money they are not bad instruments if you take the time to set them up properly
