What is this guitar?

Hello,

Can anybody help identify this guitar?

It is at least 20 years old and is made in Japan. It has a distinctive, almost Strat like body and headstock. One volume and one tone control.

I have the serial number from the neck plate;

A840017 MADE IN JAPAN

I'm guessing 84 means the year, that would fit, not sure about the A, could be Aria?

hard to tell by the picture but the headstock looks like an old ibanez roadstar.

at that time the Alphabet letter often stood for the month and the first two digits, the year...but hard to say from the pic.
