Hi again,

I've seen comments before about the original paint being stripped from these. I've had a good look at this guitar and I'm sure it's the original finish. There would be some evidence if a layer or more of paint had been stripped off.

I've read that Burns tried to produced 'one-offs' in quantity. Maybe some of these early models had this finish. The other guitar I was watching on Ebay had an identical finish.

Did you look under the scratchplate?

There could easily be no remains of paint on the body, but people rarely bother to do underneath.

I just suggest it's been stripped because these always tend to be red with a shaded in black neck.

Any experts out there know whether any of these ever came in natural? Is it mentioned in a catalogue anywhere?
