So I got this guitar off craigslist for $20. It has no logo, but my research has told me that it has all of the attributes of a Teisco (as the pic will show). Also, it has a tag that sez "MODEL NO. E-100" AND "SERIAL NO 102920" plus a small tag that sez "Made in Taiwan".

It is very similar to the "tulip" style E-100 - minus a teisco badge, no flowery vines, and the upper horn is more "SG" like, but the lower is tulip like, AND the lower strap button is offset, indented and contoured. Other than all of that, it's a tulip E-100.

Methinks it's an early '70s variation after the end of the Teisco name brand, but - i dunno. I can't find any info on a Teisco factory in Taiwan.

Fender style headstock, ashtray tailpiece cover, single pick-up, black/white/black oreo sandwich, black pick shield, dot inlays, zero fret, white nylon bushings on tuner pegs...

Hope that helps - Thanks

I never thought that everything I am, have and once had would be considered vintage. My guitars are holding up better than I am ;-p

It reminds me a bit of Teisco-made Harmonys of the 80s. Not the body shape so much but the pickups and hardware. Find some pictures of H802s.

DEFINITELY mid/late 60's... its blurry, so initially it looks like those 80's harmony H801 pickups... but if you look closely, you can just barely make out those low-end Teisco pickups. See these most commonly branded under the Heit Deluxe name.

Some new info on my little Kay (Teisco) E-100 guitar ~~~ From looking at its relatives on eBuy, I noticed on one axe that a date stamp was underneath on the pick shield - soooo.....

Those 10 little Phillips head screws were totally stripped out, but 8 were do-able with assorted screw drivers & pliers - oy...

The last 2, OMG! (Oh My Guitar!) - I had to hand drill into the stripped tops, drop in some solder around a straight blade screw driver to make new slots on the screw heads - this gave me enough metal to get them out. There must be a better method, but it was functional. If you try this, be sure to mask your pick shield from scratches and hot solder and drill out the heads deep enough to get your screwdriver tip into with the solder.

Anyway - Success!!!

Inside the Volume / Tone knob cavity, there it was, the date stamp :-)
in Euro order: 69-11-26 (November 26, 1969). Cool! I started my screw removal project on its BiRtHdAy :-D

41 years old!

Now to replace all of those horrid little screws with new ones for a birthday present.
